Rosa was born July 20, 1892 in Randolph, Ohio. Born and raised in Randolph which was primarily a farming community. At 16 years old, she ran off and married John David Shilts June 9, 1909.  She and John brought two girls into this world, and shortly after they divorced. When she was 27 years of age she married Elton Duane Rex (1885-1972). They had six girls together between 1921 & 1938. First living at 224 Rex Road they settled to 964 State Route 619 in Franklin, Ohio. Elton died October 19, 1972, and Rose died May 29, 1984 in Akron. Sadly her dream ended when she died July 7, 1921 at Port Allegany, Pennsylvania.
